Investing in the legacy of the London 2012 Games - The Independent

Investing in the legacy of the London 2012 Games - The Independent

Since day one, Cisco has anticipated with pleasure, the mammoth task of providing the network infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic and  Paralympic Games. Not least because the legacy of this investment will benefit London and the UK for many years to come.

Part of this legacy is already under way in the form of the Cisco Networking Academies. This is a global, online education programme that teaches students how to design, build, troubleshoot and secure computer networks, giving them access to career and economic opportunities they would never otherwise have had. Between now and 2013 Cisco aims to open 30 new Cisco Networking Academies in East and South-east London, capable of improving the prospects of more than 4,000 students in the next five years.

Cisco will equip selected Networking Academy schools and colleges with technology, ITE and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) online training and lab equipment. However, the academies are not restricted to traditional schools, colleges and universities. Cisco has run successful academies in places as diverse as community centres, football clubs, prisons, military bases and even homeless shelters.

To demonstrate the potential of the programme, Cisco is staging the Inspiration Roadshow. Roger Black, winner of Olympic silver and World Championship gold, will inspire young people to consider careers in networking, and encourage schools to become Networking Academies. With him will be Sean Kelly who, with the help of the Networking Academy, turned his prison sentence into a lifechanging career opportunity. Kelly is a perfect example of how Cisco’s Networking Academies can change the lives of young people in London.

In years to come, the 30th Olympic and Paralympic Games will be remembered not only for breathtaking feats of athleticism, but also for the event that launched a new era in education. Students in East London and across the UK will be able to create their own life changing experiences, through Cisco’s Networking Academies.

Former TOWIE star Amy Childs shows off impressive cleavage in tight gold monokini - Daily Mail

By J J Anisiobi

|

With her former co-stars in The Only Way Is Essex having jetted out to Marbella, and Mark Wright visiting Hollywood, it was only fair that Amy Childs got some sunshine too.

The reality TV star headed to Dubai last week for a few days of fun in the sun and she chose to sport a very revealing monokini.

The 22-year-old was barely able to contain her more than ample cleavage in the gold swimwear as she frolicked at the poolside.

Looking big: Amy Childs appeared to have increased her more than ample chest size as she holidayed in Dubai, last week

Amy recently revealed that she was unhappy with her 32C breast size and had vowed to upgrade her chest to a larger 32DD.

Judging from these photographs the red haired beauty has no need to go under the knife as her chest looked more than big enough, thanks to her supportive cupping.

She told new! magazine, last month: 'When I first got them done, they were up here. They were so nice and pert.

All washed up: Amy was joined on holiday by her younger cousin Harry Derbridge who wore an attention grabbing pair of yellow shorts

'All implants drop, but mine have especially. Maybe it’s because I was too young and still growing. I’ve had all my consultations now and decided on a 32DD.'

A spokeswoman for Childs confirmed to the Mail Online that she had not had any surgery and said: 'Amy hasn't had her boob job yet, she has a push up bikini on.'

The former Celebrity Big Brother star looked in superb shape as she strutted her stuff around the pool and showed off her amazing curves in the tight number.

Lucky guy: Harry is sure to be the envy of many men as he got to get up close and personal with Amy's suspected new assets

She accessorised the outfit with a stack of gold bangles from Lemonade, and a large pair of aviator sunglasses.

The vajazzling queen was joined on the jaunt by her little cousin Harry Derbidge, and he was on hand to make sure that she didn't burn in the sun.

All aboard: The former TOWIE star gave Harry a piggy-back as the pair frolicked in the swimming pool

Harry, 18, is sure to be the envy of many men as he was tasked with putting protective sunblock lotion on Amy's body.

Derbidge was said to be devastated after he was axed from TOWIE, but he has been living the high life following his successful relative around.

Harry, who wore a pair of bright luminous yellow shorts, couldn't hold his laughter back as he rubbed cream on Amy's arms, back and chest.

After making sure she was wearing a full body of protection, Amy delicately slipped off her white wedges and dipped her toes in the water.

It wasn't long before the pair were larking around as Harry jumped on Amy's back and she gave him a piggy-back.

Miss Childs showed some impressive strength carrying her cousin and flexed her particularly toned thighs as she walked through the shallow water.

Style queen: Amy later put on a long open kaftan as she headed to the beach with her personalised large brown bag

Family ties: Harry was said to be gutted when he got cut from TOWIE, but the young star has been living the high life in the shadow of his cousin

No doubt her new muscles are the result of recent fitness DVD, Amy Childs – Fit in 30 Days.

Despite working up a sweat, the pair were not done with their day of fun and walked down to the beach to spend the rest of their time working on their tans.

While Harry put on a sleeveless grey shirt, Amy slightly covered up in a long open kaftan and accessorised with a personalised ClaireaBella bag.

Hleping hand: Harry looked more like Amy's assistant than her cousin as he helped her keep her stylish outfit together on the beach

Awesome

I just want to use them as boxing bags! What a great workout that would be!

must she always stand on her toes? may be she wants to look tall.

Her chest is so full of helium she's having trouble keeping her feet on the ground. Why else would she be standing on her toes?

Hideous!!!

SMASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your journalist must be so rubbish at their jobs if this was the only news they could find, do they really think this is worthwhile news DM please performance mangers your journalist or just sack them.

I don't often comment on other people's appearance, but I do take issue with the headline pharase '.....shows off impressive cleavage....' To me the cleavage is about as impressive as a clown's red nose and bright orange wig, and just as realistic. The sooner some young women learn that most men, as opposed to adolescent boys, are not impressed by ridiculous enhancement, the better

Let her have a boob job, let her have one soooo big we dont have to see her face!!!

The new Amy child model comes complete with twin air bags

London Welsh's promotion appeal date put back one week - BBC News

The date of London Welsh's appeal to the Rugby Football Union (RFU) over their eligibility for promotion to the Premiership has been put back one week.

The appeal, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, will now take place on 28 June.

An independent audit found the Championship winners had not achieved the minimum standards criteria for entry to the top flight.

The Exiles had submitted plans to groundshare with Oxford United.

The RFU has announced that James Dingemans QC will chair the independent panel for the appeal, alongside Ian Mill QC and Tim Ward QC.

Newcastle Falcons will remain in the Premiership, despite finishing bottom of the table, unless Welsh's appeal is successful.

London Welsh sealed the Championship title in May after beating Cornish Pirates 66-41 over two legs.

Sussex steal Kent Exiles' Thunder (From News Shopper) - News Shopper

Kent Exiles 12-50 Sussex Thunder

KENT Exiles were beaten by Sussex Thunder on Sunday in their final home game of the season.

Going into the game as underdogs, and with a depleted squad due to five games in as many weeks having taken its toll with injuries, the Exiles dug in early on and matched Thunder stride for stride.

After an early Thunder score the Exiles thought they had drawn level when Zac Ritchie threw to Sam Johnson and the wideout broke a tackle and outpaced the visiting defence, but a penalty wiped the score off the board.

Ritchie found Colin Chislett and then Johnson again to move them within touching distance of the endzone and Jon Miller caught the touchdown.

Sussex Thunder pulled ahead on their next drive, but the Exiles came straight back once again.

Ben Abbott continued his good form finding some running room and Ritchie found the reliable Chislett and Miller before Wesley Eversley jumped between three defenders to pull in the touchdown and bring the scores level again.

One more Thunder score as the half ran out gave the visitors the lead, but at half-time it was anyone's game.

However, the second half was a different story as Sussex Thunder’s defence started to get on top and force turnovers which resulted in some quick scoring without reply from the Exiles and before long the game was out of reach.

Sam: I want family affair on TOWIE - Westmidlands.com

The Only Way Is Essex star Sam Faiers has revealed she wants her mother and grandmother to be on the show.

The model already stars with her sister Billie and boyfriend Joey Essex in the ITV reality show, but now she hopes to get more of the Faiers family on screen – if she can persuade them.

Sam said: “I really wanted my nan to be in the Marbella special because she lives in Marbella, but funnily enough my nan was in England while I was out there, so we crossed over, which was really upsetting.

“My mum would be great on the show – she’s really good looking, she’s young, she loves going out with the girls, but she’s just so camera shy, so I don’t know. Maybe…”

This year the group of friends from Essex were followed by the film crew on their annual trip to Marbella, to make their holiday into a summer special.

Sam admitted it had affected the holiday having the cameras there.

She said: “Marbella was really good, but it wasn’t like our usual holiday because we were trying to do partying and filming and there were a lot of fans out there and we were trying to mix it all into one holiday. So it was quite stressful.”

She added: “But in the end it made a really good show so it was good fun.”

London Welsh's appeal against Premiership promotion block is delayed - The Guardian

London Welsh's appeal against the decision to block their promotion to the Aviva Premiership has been delayed by a week.

The case will now be heard on 28 June – it was originally scheduled for 21 June – under an agreement by all parties involved.

The independent panel will be James Dingemans QC (chairman), Ian Mill QC and Tim Ward QC at a venue yet to be confirmed.

Welsh won this season's Championship after beating Cornish Pirates in both legs of the final.

But the Richmond-based club were told just hours before the first leg kicked off in Cornwall they did not meet minimum standards criteria set down by English rugby's Professional Game Board for entry to the Premiership.

The Exiles played the final's second leg at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford, which is thought to be their preferred venue should they gain top-flight status.

As things stand, Newcastle will remain in the Premiership next term despite finishing bottom by a point behind Wasps this season.

But should London Welsh succeed in overturning an original decision that went against them, then they will go up and the Falcons be relegated.
