Watch the highlights of day four at Horsham as Sussex clinch victory over Sussex
Sussex secured their second LV= County Championship Division One win of the season courtesy of an inspired performance by their bowlers on the final day against Surrey at Horsham.
Monty Panesar led the way with three wickets as Surrey were dismissed for 248 with six overs remaining, after which the hosts knocked off their victory target of 22 from just 11 balls to complete a 10-wicket triumph.
It was no more than Sussex deserved after dominating much of the match, although there was widespread relief when James Anyon took the final wicket just when it looked as if skipper Rory Hamilton-Brown and the Surrey tail might save the game.
Hamilton-Brown defied the pain of a sore hamstring to bat for over three hours before Anyon plucked out his off stump for 47 - the highest score by a Surrey batsman in either innings.
Rory Hamilton-Brown's brave captain's innings eventually proved in vain as Surrey slipped to a 10-wicket defeat against Sussex at Horsham
He had added 32 with Jon Lewis for the ninth wicket – which used up 14 overs – and last man Jade Dernbach batted alongside him for another eight before Anyon made the decisive breakthrough.
Two wickets fell before lunch as nightwatchman Stuart Meaker played on to Steve Magoffin and Panesar claimed the key wicket of Mark Ramprakash, trapped lbw sweeping, for 37.
Zander de Bruyn was twice dropped, on nought and 16, before he too fell to Panesar sweeping across the line in the ninth over after lunch.
The left-arm spinner struck again to end a useful innings by Steven Davies, who edged to slip for 35.
Shortly before tea, off-spinner Chris Nash ended a skittish contribution from Tom Maynard with his sixth ball that skidded through to trap the batsman in front.
Surrey lost their seventh just before tea in farcical circumstances when Gareth Batty took on Magoffin at mid-on looking for a single and was left stranded by an accurate return when Hamilton-Brown rightly sent his partner back.
When Anyon sent Murali Kartik's off stump cartwheeling shortly after tea, it looked as if Sussex would win comfortably before Hamilton-Brown and the tail dug in.
Sussex skipper Mike Yardy rung the changes in search of further wickets as Panesar, who bowled 21 maidens in his 33 overs, Anyon and Magoffin maintained control before Surrey's resistance ended.
Openers Ed Joyce and Chris Nash took little time in knocking off their target; the former hit three boundaries and pulled Lewis out of the ground for six to clinch victory.

I'm ready for my close up! TOWIE new girl Danni Park-Dempsey goes from extra to leading lady in short white skirt on night out - Daily Mail
|
The Only Way Is Essex has proved to be very lucrative for all those who have bagged starring roles in the popular ITV show.
Having joined the cast towards the end of series five Danni Park-Dempsey didn't really get a chance to make an impact with viewers.
So now that the cast are having some downtime new girl Danni stepped out last night in Essex in an outfit that would have made anyone think she has a leading role in the show.
New girl in town: TOWIE's Danni Park-Dempsey (centre) shows off her toned legs as she heads to Funky Mojoe
The bubbly Essex girl stunned in a very short flowing white chiffon skirt which showed off her toned legs as she headed to Funky Mojoe in South Woodford.
She teamed the skirt with a beige shirt which was unbuttoned to ensure her ample cleavage was on display as she hit up TOWIE's hotspot.
Danni completed her look with a pair of strapped metallic skyscraper heels and she accessorised with a silver crucifix necklace and several beaded bracelets.
Popular girl: The Essex beauty received a kiss from one of her friends as they made their way to the club
Excited to hit the town with her girl pals, earlier in the day the reality TV star took to her Twitter page to update her followers.
She tweeted, 'Can't wait for @FUNKYMOJOE tonight with all my girls x'
Enjoying the evening and starting to feel the effects of the alcohol, she tweeted, 'Wow I let my hair down for one night and one night only #tipsy #love x'
Showing off her assets: The 21-year-old tweeted that she had allowed herself to let her hair down for once
Last night before the 21-year-old retired to her bed she posted one more tweet which read, 'Night had the best night x'
Danni's appearance last night differed in comparison to the few times she received cameos in the Bafta award-winning show where she seemed to be plain Jane.
In the last episode of TOWIE Danni looked dressed down as she sat comforting Lucy Mecklenburgh alongside her BFF Lydia Bright when she donned a navy blue play suit.
In the shadow: Danni showed off a more demure side to her wardrobe when she featured in TOWIE

Murder hunt after Sussex victim of Jubilee attack dies - BBC News
A murder investigation has begun after the death of a 21-year-old East Sussex man found collapsed in the street following a Jubilee party.
Father-of-three James Harris Durkin, of Eastbourne, was discovered in Court Road, Orpington, south-east London, in the early hours of Tuesday.
The Met Police said he was taken to Royal London Hospital but later died.
Post-mortem tests on Thursday showed he died from a "deep brain bleed linked to blunt force trauma".
The Met Police have set up an incident room at Lewisham police station and appealed for witnesses.
A spokesman for the force said: "There were a number of people at the party which is in an area of adjoining residential premises.
"There were also, despite the early hours of the assault, people in the area either going to or returning from work in a part of Orpington."
Mr Harris Durkin initially travelled to Orpington from his home in Eastbourne to attend a funeral on Monday.
Officers said he then spent the evening celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with family and friends in Court Road.
