It’s definitely going to be a heated summer for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.
A source close to the situation confirms to HollywoodLife.com exclusively that the much-anticipated divorce proceedings will begin this week in Minnesota.
“Depositions are starting this week,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com. “It’s in motion.”
Kris, 27, will be first to give his side of the story, then Kim, 31, and later on — if necessary — witnesses will be called to the stand.
This comes after Kim publicly apologized to Kris in an emotional interview with Oprah Winfrey on June 17.
“He’s a good person,” she told Oprah. “I will always have a place in my heart for him. It just wasn’t for me. You know in your heart … For anyone I hurt, I’m truly sorry, I don’t wish pain on anyone, but the person I am because of that crazy experience, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I loved him, obviously it hurt him, and it hurt me too.”
But a source tells us her apology was insincere and only a strategy to win fan support before the trial.
“She’s trying to win her fans back and get support just before the trial starts. She’s pulling the sympathy card right now,” a source tells us. “They [Kim and Kris] haven’t spoken since she visited him in Minnesota, so it’s hard to believe she loves somebody and cares about him when she’s never reached out and apologized in private.”
Hmm! It will definitely be a drama-filled summer with these two in and out of the courtroom.

'Very happy': Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss is dating Australian cinematographer Adam Arkapaw, and the pair made their debut at the Sydney Film Festival
A source told the New York Post: 'They looked very much an item and very happy.'
Elisabeth's new relationship comes after her difficult divorce from Saturday Night Live funnyman Armisen, from whom she split after eight months of marriage.
Shortly after the pair's split in June 2010, Armisen began dating his SNL co-star Abby Elliott, who is 20 years younger than him.
Former love: Elisabeth and Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen divorced last year after just eight months of marriage
Elisabeth met Armisen back in 2008 when she made a cameo appearance on Saturday Night Live which was hosted by her Mad Men co-star Jon Hamm.
The couple wed in October 2010 after getting engaged the year before.
Following their split, Elisabeth spoke out about her ex in a frank new interview: 'One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, "He's so great at doing impersonations."
'But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.'

Essex Property Trust buys two SoMa housing projects - The Business Journal
Real estate investment trust Essex Property Trust has purchased two development projects from Avant Housing totaling 463 apartments at Folsom and Fifth streets in San Francisco’s South of Market enclave.
The projects, at 260 Fifth St. and 900 Folsom St., are both in the very early stages of construction, with work having started on the Folsom Street project and a summer groundbreaking scheduled for the Fifth Street development. They have a combined estimated completed value of $250 million. The sale price was not disclosed.
Palo Alto-based Essex Property Trust has hired Avant to manage construction of the projects, which are slated for completion by early 2014.
Avant Housing LLC, a real estate development partnership between AGI Capital, TMG Partners and CalPERS , is also currently building 194 units at 1880 Mission St.
All three projects were designed to appeal to the young tech workers flooding into the city and will feature bike repair shops and dog walking areas.
“Today’s announcement represents the culmination of a long-term effort to develop quality apartment projects in the highly desirable, supply-constrained San Francisco market,” said Avant’s Eric Tao. “Essex understands and supports the community-driven ideals of these projects and, together with Avant, we are committed to fulfilling the development goals of the neighborhood.”
John D. Eudy, executive vice president of development for Essex, said the company was “pleased to be entering the robust South of Market area here in San Francisco.” “This is a healthy and strategically positioned property both for the needs of the City, as well as for our investment portfolio,” said Eudy.
Mary Ann King, president, and Brett Betzler, director, Moran & Company’s California office represented the seller. The price was not disclosed.
