Ben and Kate Goldsmith call Twitter truce after online divorce spat - Daily Telegraph

Ben and Kate Goldsmith call Twitter truce after online divorce spat - Daily Telegraph

But earlier this week on Twitter he branded his estranged wife’s decision to call the police to the family home “appalling” as he prepared for a lengthy divorce battle with the Rothschild heiress.

Today they issued a joint statement admitting that they should have kept their private life to themselves.

"We are both deeply saddened that our marriage has ended after nine years," the statement said.

“It is a matter of regret to us that, at a time when our emotions and those of our friends have run high, things have been said in public which should have been kept private. We accept our full share of responsibility for this.

“Contrary to what has been publicly stated, neither of us anticipates any major issues of contention to arise in the divorce, in which the interests of our children will come first.

“There will be no further comment, either directly or indirectly, from us on any aspect of our family’s private life.”

Mr Goldsmith will file for divorce on the grounds of adultery, reportedly believing there is “no way back” following what he claims was a “serious” affair as opposed to a brief fling.

He is currently on holiday in Sicily with his mother Lady Annabel. The couple’s £20 million home in Kensington, West London, has been put up for sale.

The acrimonious split has been played out on the social networking site Twitter, with Mr Goldsmith unable to contain his fury over the alleged betrayal.

Yesterday, when a supporter expressed incredulity that Mrs Goldsmith, 29, had called the police, he replied: “agree, appalling.”

As scions of two of Britain's most illustrious families, the Goldsmiths are both wealthy in their own right.

Mr Goldsmith inherited an estimated £300 million after the death of his father, who built up a £1.2 billion fortune as a food magnate and then investor. His wife inherited an £18 million fortune after the suicide of her banker father Amschel Rothschild.

A divorce will almost certainly cause further frictions within the family however, not least because Mrs Goldsmith’s sister Alice is in a relationship with her husband’s brother, Zac Goldsmith, the Tory MP.

The brothers’ sister Jemima Khan is also believed to be close to Mrs Goldsmith.

Mark Wright falls for LA volley dolly Chelsea - The Sun

The former Only Way Is Essex lothario, notorious for his womanising on home ground, met Chelsea Rashoff while filming his new reality series in the showbiz capital.

She is on the US national beach volleyball team and is also a part-time model.

A close friend told TV Biz: “Mark has been loving all the attention from the LA girls, but especially from Chelsea.

“Everyone could see that there is definitely a spark between them. Chelsea is beautiful and their relationship is sure to blossom.

“They are very sweet together, holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes.

“Things are set to get hot and heavy between the pair.”

The pair have been snapped enjoying a meal together in the sunshine — with Chelsea even feeding Mark her ice cream.

But it seems that the former love rat may also be back to his old tricks.

He was also spotted schmoozing two other girls on different dates in the same day.

Viewers will see Mark’s budding love life flourish on his new ITV2 show Mark Wright’s Hollywood Nights, set in California. But the reailty star — currently still filming the series — was very coy when talking about the LA ladies to TV Biz.

He teased: “The girls out here are very fun, very friendly.

“I don’t know about love yet, but there could be something in the pipeline.”

And he revealed he is impressed by the effort the Californians put into their looks.

The I’m A Celeb star raved: “Everyone looks after themselves to quite a high level.

“I wouldn’t say the girls are nicer in LA than Essex — but there are more nice girls here.”

The series sees Mark hit LA for a five-week jaunt with his entourage, including driver George, PA Neil, bodyguard Nick and pal Tommy.

But it’s not all about the lads chasing girls. They also fit in some footie — playing with footballer turned movie hardman Vinnie Jones’ celebrity team Hollywood All Stars.

Mark said: “Vinnie Jones is an absolute gent. We played for his football side — he was so polite, he was lovely to meet.

“He was telling me about his Hollywood lifestyle and how he got into acting and he made me man of the match.

“I didn’t go to his house but he invited me over to play poker next time I’m in LA.”

Mark has also been rubbing shoulders with the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and pop star Pink.

But he has still found time to play pranks on his mates.

Mark said: “When we first arrived I took them to the Hollywood Star motel and that’s where they thought we were staying for five weeks. We are in this horrible motel, all the boys are homesick and we are surrounded by noises from other people.

“There was a gunshot in the hallway while the boys were in the room and it was quite scary. I knew it was coming, but even I jumped halfway across the room.”

The lads then moved to their real accommodation — a luxury villa complete with music studio, swimming pool, media room and sweeping views.

Despite mixing with the stars and having the “most amazing time”, Mark insists he is not ready to make the States his full-time home — unless a film role comes his way.

He said: “I couldn’t live here permanently yet.

“I have loads of projects in the pipeline and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

“Movies are a long, long way off yet. If a big movie came along maybe I would make the move across the water, but I would definitely still have my house in Essex, it’s my home.”

But while he misses the county, he is not pining for The Only Way Is Essex, which he left last year, He said: “I’m not missing Towie.

“I loved everything it did for me. I'm still a great fan. I wish all the guys the best, but I’m doing my own thing now.

“Sometimes I have to pinch myself, it is completely surreal.

“I sit here and think how lucky I am and what an amazing experience I’ve had in the past year and a half.”

Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights starts on Sunday on ITV2 at 10pm.
